To win this badge you need to practice Intentional Listening in real‑world conversations and record your progress. Follow the five micro‑steps below, repeat them for a week, and note the shift in trust and calm you create. 1. Pause and take three slow breaths before the other person finishes speaking. 2. Mirror the speaker’s core feeling with a phrase like “I hear you feel …”. 3. Ask one open‑ended question that invites deeper sharing. 4. Summarize the message in your own words before adding your view. 5. End with a brief gratitude statement for the speaker’s openness. Track each step in a journal, tally how many times you avoided interrupting, and reflect on the emotional tone of the exchange. When you consistently hit all five criteria for at least five separate talks, you’ve earned the badge.
Benefits
You’ll consistently pause before responding, which reduces interruptions and earns a reputation for thoughtfulness. Your conversations will end with mutual appreciation, increasing trust and collaboration. You’ll develop a habit of summarizing and asking open‑ended questions, leading to clearer understanding and fewer misunderstandings.
